“What have you done for me lately?”
Seven despicable words.

What an ugly implication.
How conveniently forgetful.
So selfish.

Our present is the cumulation of past endeavors of our own as well as contributions from others.
That one or another person important to us in the past is no longer making a contribution to us doesn’t mitigate their past importance, their importance to our present.

Love everyone with whom you come in contact.
With a continuing love, a continuing appreciation of what they meant to us at one time.
‘Thank you for your past.’

Not, “What have you done for me lately?”
Seven despicable words.

Weather
Monday, June 24, 2019

On this day Boston will enjoy warm temperatures, with a high of 72* and a feels-like of 74* under sunny skies.
The next few days will feature varying but seasonal temperatures, seventies to eighties with a lot of sun.
Anyone complaining?

Chuckle of the Day:
Monday, June 24, 2019

Late one night, a burglar broke into a house that he thought was empty.
He tiptoed through the living room but suddenly he froze in his tracks when he heard a loud voice say: "Jesus is watching you!"
Silence returned to the house, so the burglar crept forward again.
"Jesus is watching you," the voice boomed again.
The burglar stopped again.
He was frightened.
Frantically, he looked all around.
In a dark corner, he spotted a bird cage and in the cage was a parrot.
The burglar breathed a sigh of relief, then he asked the parrot:
"What's your name?" "Clarence," said the bird.
"That's a dumb name for a parrot," sneered the burglar. "What idiot named you Clarence?"
The parrot said, "The same idiot who named the Rottweiller, Jesus."

Stand Watie (Cherokee: lit. 'Stand firm') (December 12, 1806 – September 9, 1871) — also known as Standhope Uwatie, Tawkertawker, and Isaac S. Watie — was a leader of the Cherokee Nation, and the only Native American to attain a general's rank in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He commanded the Confederate Indian cavalry of the Army of the Trans-Mississippi, made up mostly of Cherokee, Muskogee and Seminole, and was the final Confederate general in the field to cease hostilities at war's end.

During the Civil War and soon after, Watie served as Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation (1862–1866).
Watie led the Southern Cherokee delegation to Washington after the war to sue for peace, hoping to have tribal divisions recognized.
The US government negotiated only with the leaders who had sided with the Union, and named former chief John Ross as principal chief in 1866 under a new treaty.
Watie stayed out of politics for his last years, and tried to rebuild his plantation.

Good Morning on this Monday, the twenty-fourth day of June, 2019

Our lead picture: Stand Wait, the last Confederate general to surrender.
A comment on a despicable idea.
We posted the Boston weather report, the ticking calendar, and the growing number of posts as a time marker.
A plate of sushi for dinner.
An email from Kali thanking her supporters.
A chuckle.
And a thumbnail on Stand Wait.

And now? Gotta go.

Che vuoi? Le pocketbook?
See you soon.
Your love.
