Hotter than I ever remember our region.
No respite for me, except diversion from the pain.

Am leaving Saturday morning for a thirty-six hour trip to NYC with my cousin, to visit my daughter Katherine, who has taken up residence in the Big Apple for the summer.
In deference to Mother Nature, I suggested that she not plan any walking moments: drive everywhere and deal with parking, better than collapsing in the heat.

Is 100* to be the new norm?
Will the increased dependence on air conditioning lead to our consumption of more electricity leading to more global warming?

We’ll see.

Meanwhile, please heed all the warnings from our local weather people.
Stay well.

On this day Boston will present residents with a hot day, a high of 97* but a feels-like of 106* with a mix of clouds.
Tomorrow will stay ridiculously hot, although rain coming in the several days after will spell relief from the heat.

Welcome, Globally Warned.
Even I will enjoy an air conditioned place.

Dinner
Saturday, July 20, 2019

Thursday’s dinner was a double-thick pork chop. Delicious. Almost two pounds, it fed two after being cooked like the mini-pork roast it was.

Chuckle of the Day:
Saturday, July 20, 2019

An old blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake.
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, "Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?"
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.

In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things:

The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
The bouncer is a blonde girl with a 'Billy-Club'.
I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.
The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.

Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy... Do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?"

The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, "No...not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times..."

Margaret Hamilton in action as lead Apollo software designer.

She was director of the Software Engineering Division of the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory, which developed on-board flight software for NASA's Apollo space program.

In 1986, she founded Hamilton Technologies, Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The company was developed around Universal Systems Language, based on her paradigm of "Development Before the Fact" for systems and software design.

Hamilton has published over 130 papers, proceedings and reports about sixty projects and six major programs.
She is one of the people credited with coining the term "software engineering".

In 2016, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama for her work leading to the development of on-board flight software for NASA's Apollo missions.

I have my diploma in here certifying that I have graduated from code writing and have become a software engineer.

Good Morning on this Friday, the nineteenth day of July, 2019

Our lead picture presents Margaret Hamilton, a well-known, successful software engineer and our Thumbnail adds a bit more info to that.
Our commentary is on the hot weather.

We posted a Boston weather report and the growing number of posts as calendar markers.
We posted a chuckle of a blind man telling a blond joke that is neutrally PC but legitimately funny.
We posted our Thursday dinner.

And now? Gotta go.

Che vuoi? Le pocketbook?
See you soon.
Your love.
